I have been waiting for this functionality for a long time. ToDo+Cal+Sync was a reasonable [but pricey] compromise, given Apples restrictions on Calendar access. Now with iOS4 and SML Pro, I am happy to be able to get calendar information out of our dinosaur Oracle Calendar and into the native Apple Calendars on all my devices.

This App brings SyncML standard based synchronisation for calendar and contacts to iOS. With version 3.0, it also brings a full calendar, including the unique seamlessly scrolling view from the "Continuous" app.
Still, SyncML PRO syncs the iOS native calendar database, so its your choice to use the standard iOS calendar app, any other app which presents the iOS calendar or SyncML PRO itself to view and edit your calendars. Using SyncML PRO, you gain the ability to automatically launch a sync whenever the app is opened or closed.
SyncML PRO allows synchronizing all or selected iPhone calendars to any SyncML compliant server or service in the internet or in the local network.
SyncML PRO itself can also act as a full featured SyncML server in the local WiFi network to allow direct device-to-device sync. Most recent featurephones and smartphones of all manufacturers have either SyncML built-in or allow installing a SyncML client.
SyncML PRO uses the mature and extensively interoperability tested SyncML engine, on which many SyncML client and server products for all platforms are based (libsynthesis). With this, SyncML PRO has has a high interoperability from the beginning.
Note: Before buying this program with the wrong expectations, please be aware that it supports the open SyncML standard, but does not directly sync with internet based or desktop calendaring software that do not support SyncML (like iCal, Outlook). For some popular calendars third party solutions exist that add SyncML access. Please also note that this app cant synchronize participant/attendee information because Apple does not give write access to this aspect of the calendar to third party applications.

SyncML Pro - worth the wait!
exactly what was needed!
downloaded. set up with my work server. synced. checked ical on my phone, everything from Oracle was there, including alerts to my surprise! then MobileMe took care of the rest by updating my computers calendar. thats that! never have to enter into multiple calendar apps again!
Finally!!
Ive been waiting SO long for Apple to open the calendar to developers. No longer do I need to have two calendars running on my phone. After 3 years of waiting/hoping its here!!

I live by my electronic calendar at work. Great sync app! Had to have my IT guy set it up for Outlook. Also, be careful syncing contacts - it dropped every email address I had ever used at work into my phone contact list. I went from having 200 phone contacts to over 1500 phone and email contacts. Took forever to clean the phone contacts out. I just disabled that function.

at first I had troubles making syncml PRO work. The developer helped a lot with several emails, ideas and troubleshooting. Now it works fine. very satisfied.

I wrote a previous review warning that iOS5 had broken the app for syncing with Oracle Calendar and gave the app 1 star as a warning. The latest version, 3.01 is working perfectly, and I would now give it 5 stars. Just make sure you have all of your preferences set correctly for your server (some of my preferences defaulted to incorrect settings with the new install) ; check with your server Admin. I rely on this app all the time, and am very happy to have it back and fully functional.
