I like this app. It tells you how far the lightning is away. Something great for me to do during thunderstorms when I cant use my computer on other electrical appliances.

Description
ThunderTimer will also give an indication of whether the thunderstorm is moving away or towards you. ThunderTimer supports both U.S. and metric units for measurement. ThunderTimer can of course be used to measure similar events, like fireworks and others. Additionally, further development goals are to use the integrated compass in IPhone 3GS together with GPS localization to pin-point the location of the lightling on a map. Another further enhancement is to log the measured distances.

Great App!
okay
okay app
Im in CA, and I get thunderstorms. it is fake and it doesnt work so, dont wast your time downloading it
The goober poster is confused...
Somehow with that review I get the feeling he thought that you run the app, theres lightning and the app just does the figuring for you because it "senses" the lightning, lolololol Dude, this works fine and as I type this, its free. I hope you dont run accross an app for your toilet. Lives could get out of hand....
Zap
Why would you want to be holding a connected iPhone in a lightening storm? And can you count to five without a timer? Sheeeesh.
Has potential!
App is basic, but works well. Hope for an update before rainy season starts here in Texas! In my opinion, the interface is quite bland. Description should be moved to top or bottom away from button. "see a lightning" should be rephrased "see a lightning bolt/strike/etc," and a period couldnt hurt. Pull button colors from native iPhone apps to give it a more seamless, integrated look. You could also add some lightning safety tips to give some meat to the app. I dont know what people expect this app to do (stop a storm?) but some reviews are...not helpful. Try the app for yourself and give a useful rating based on what the app is designed for.
Simple and useful
The tool is designed to provide a measurement regarding the distance of thunderstorms. It does this function well and nothing more. I think it downloaded without any additional expectations, it is a great application.
