Written by a former professional triathlete and triathlon coach, TriTrainer provides a personalized 16-week workout plan to prepare you for an Olympic distance triathlon (1.5k swim, 40k bike and 10k run). Whether you are a novice or an experienced cyclist, swimmer or runner that wants to cross over into triathlons, TriTrainer is for you.

Some of the app’s distinctive features are:

* A full 16-week training plan with detailed daily workouts.

* A training plan customized to your ability level. You can choose whether you are at a beginning or intermediate level in each sport (swimming, biking and running). Or, if you are a more experienced triathlete, you can choose a separate advanced level workout plan.

* A training program customized to your scheduling needs, allowing you to choose the one “Rest Day” a week that you want in addition to which days you swim, bike and run on.

* Over 30 invaluable “Triathlon Tips From A Pro.”

* Comprehensive training resources, covering such topics as proper form, equipment, race strategy, workout guidelines, and nutrition.

* Track your training progress as you complete each workout.

* Enter in your personal observations and/or data in the workout notes section.

What our customers are saying:

Ive used the app to train for my first international distance tri and was able to get within 4 minutes of my goal time. Not bad for this couch potato, and couldnt have done it without this app.

Just thought Id let you know that I finished my first Olympic Tri in many years - and after just 15 weeks following your plan :-)
The race didnt quite go to plan as I had a bit of a crash on the bike when my chain jumped off when climbing uphill - however I jumped back on and completed the rest of the bike course - and overtook 20 or so people. Your training plan really helped get me through the whole event even when I was hurting from the crash
So thanks once again for the great App - its been really fun to follow - Im going to do another race in a few weeks and try and stay on my bike this time!
Regards,
D.B.

Note: In order to be able to start the training program at the beginning level, you should be able to do the following (individually, not one after another): (1) swim a total of 400 yards (350 meters) during a particular workout (this can include stops in-between laps); (2) bike for 30 minutes without stopping, at an easy, leisurely pace; and (3) run for at least 15 minutes continuously at an easy, leisurely pace.

Sometimes awkward, but worthwhile

Without too much fuss, the app produces a valid, usable schedule of customized workouts and allows you to record having done them and see your progress. Its motivating to want to keep up with the schedule, and also includes some tips and strategies. Its less work than designing my own schedule and much cheaper than a coach. The app doesnt waste time starting up and doesnt crash. The interface for rescheduling workouts is very awkward, forcing you to cycle through different arrangements to try and get the one you want, and rescheduling cannot be done at all after the date has passed, so for example if you did your run on Thursday and now its Friday and you want to swap that with the swim you were supposed to do on Thursday, but you didnt get to the pool on time, its impossible. On the plus side, it warns but doesnt completely disallow poor scheduling with consecutive workouts in the same sport. The app highlights the workout scheduled for the current day, but doesnt update the day if you havent exited since a previous day. Theres no specific facility for comparing splits or distances to track speed improvement. It only records the time you spent on each activity. Theres no way to add in multisport cross-training such as cross-country skiing. It assumes you are starting your training three months before the race. When I wanted to start training a year in advance I had to invent imaginary races to train towards. I would have given it a four if rescheduling were easier and maybe a five if did that well and allowed me to see progress in speed as well as just time spent slogging.

Half ironman or full ironman

I love this app. If you create one for a half or a full ironman, I buy it!

Two tiny tweaks please!

You really should be able to drag Mondays workout to Tuesday and match the workouts to the day of the week thats best for you that way. With guidelines and notes reminding the athlete to try to avoid running on back to back days. Please add this capability!! I want to look at my week and know which workouts Ive completed. A check box to show the workout was done would go a long way!! Thank you for putting this app out there. Im very grateful!

Completed my first Olympic distance because of this app!

Love this app!!!!! I did about five sprint distance triathlons before this summer. I set a goal to do my first Olympic tri this summer and used this app to help me get there. I finished the tri in under three hours and it is because of this app. It is easy to follow. It provides detailed workouts. It is user friendly. You can track your progress and you can customize the workout plan based on the date of your event. You plug in the date of the event and follow the workouts. Also,it provides good info on heart rate monitoring to help build endurance. GREAT app!!!

Request

I just wrote a review for your 1st Time Triathlon when I saw this one. I almost thought it a mistake because they look the same. Suggest changing logo and color scheme so visually could select the quickly and correctly

Gotta get this app

Im about half way done with First Time Tri. I am really looking forward to starting this program too. JammyCos programs are easy to follow and never boring.

Great app

Awesome workouts, beg intermediate or advanced. Just wish there was more options for changing workouts per day or switching them around. Nice job overall!!!!
