Description
See the beginning and end of the Civil War with the sites around Richmond. Walk where Lincoln, Lee, and Grant walked during the final days of the war. In addition to the early action of the Seven Days and the 1864 action of the Overland Campaign, this app will take you to the sites where history was made in the final weeks of the war. Walk the trail that General Grant took to the surrender of Robert E. Lee at Appomattox and follow Abraham Lincolns walk through Richmond as the city was still smoldering. Lincoln was in Richmond only hours after the Confederates left and just 10 days before he was assassinated. He was overwhelmed by the joyful crowd of free people, and met with choruses of "Glory to God! Glory! Glory! Glory!"

You can now select a battlefield, press “Open in Apple Maps” and receive driving, walking, or public transportation directions to the battlefield. For instance, you can easily plan a driving trip to the locations of the Seven Days Battles of June, 1862.
