Support your child’s sense of time during activities with This for That: Visual Timer, developed by PixelAtion Labs! Visual timers are great assistive tools for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Visual timers are useful for working on a variety of skills, including waiting, transitioning between activities, staying focused on a task, managing time during daily routines, refraining from engagement in a behavior, and tolerating an unpreferred activity for a length of time.
This for That: Visual Timer incorporates visual aids to either ease transitions between activities or motivate the child to stay focused on an activity for a length of time. Before starting the timer, you include a picture of either the next activity or the reward the child is working toward. As the timer counts down, more of the image is revealed!
This for That features are centered on simplicity and ease of use. With This for That: Visual Timer, you can:
- Save timers to reuse often
- Set timers for up to 11 hours
- Select pictures from the image library or upload images from your iPhone or iPad
- Start, stop, and pause timers
