You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.

Subscriptions cannot be canceled during the active subscription period.

In addition, we are unable to refund your card, as the transaction is with Apple, so we don’t even have access to it. We simply fulfill what they tell us was purchased.

Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription to this publication, where applicable.

In the future, to make sure that your subscription does not auto-renew at the end of the term, open the App Store on your Apple device, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click your Account button. There, you’ll see a place to turn off auto-renew for any subscriptions you currently have.

Needs landscape

Great to see the walrus here. Needs landscape! Couple page turning bugs but a solid first effort!

Performance

The Walrus content and layout is as fantastic as usual, but the insane magazine size (250MB for text and a few images?!?) and very sluggish performance of their app is really frustrating.

iPhone version could use some work

Im a big fan of the Walrus and I find the iPad version to be quite good. I really like the navigation of the app, although I do find it to be a bit sluggish. The iPhone version could use a little work though… its basically just the iPad version of magazine, but scaled down to fit the screen of the iPhone. The text is extremely small and cant be adjusted or even zoomed… its basically unreadable unless the phone is right up to your face, making the iPhone version of the app kind of pointless. Please work on the iPhone version

One of the Best Newstand Magazines

This is by far the best reading experience youre going to get on the iPad. The content is great. Theres not a massive amount, but the quality is outstanding. The iPhone application is not so great but really Im not going to read a magazine on the iPhone anyways. But its strange, the application itself supports the iPhone 5 screen but the magazine content is letter boxed. However, the screenshots are the same aspect ratio. Oh well. Its still great.

No font support

App does not allow you to increase font size! One of the main reasons people use the iPad for reading!

flaky installation process

What is described on the website in terms of how to install bears no resemblance to what I see on my iPod Touch 4. If I tap on the screen after opening the app, I do NOT get an Activate popup, I get nothing. There is a myaccount link, but if I tap it the results are useless. First I got prompts for my subscription number and postal code, but when I clicked Go the spinner rotated and suddenly I was kicked over to the download field. When I tried to download the issue, about 1/4 through the download (sometimes even sooner) I got an error saying the server connection was broken. Re-starting, the download begins again from scratch, loads a megabtye or so of the isseu, then freezes and I get another error message. Then if I go back to my account I get a message telling me that "the request timed out." All of the above is happening on my home wifi network; my iPod is telling me I have maximum signal strength. This app is a piece of absolute CRAP. Please fix it. I have also reported this by email to the link on the walrus website.

Text too small on iPhone

The text is not zoomable on the iPhone and is very small.
