WordWeb Pro Dictionary at App Store analyse

Les nombreuses définitions et les exemples font que ce dictionnaire peut parfaitement aider un francophone pour comprendre de langlais et à saisir certaines finesses que les dictionnaires traducteurs ne développent pas. Je lai acheté pour mon Mac, la version Pro pour mon PC et en gratuit sur mon iPod. Bravo aux développeurs pour la bonne intégration dans chacun de ces environnements.

Considering the price 5 dollars against 30 dollars for other dictionaries, this app is the gem. It has pretty much all the definitions you gonna need. Most dictionariers have around 300 000 so does this one. Wordweb comes with great sentece examples and division for nouns, adjectives and verbs. It is definately one of the best dictionaris on the App Store. And probably the best deal you can make ever.

Friends….. This is not like windows version.In windows version ctrl+right click on a word will lead to the wordweb. It can be used in all the applications like browser, pdf, microsoft office apps, djvu files and all the document type files. But it is not so in mac version. It is a utter waste to buy this in mac version. it is not even equivalent to macs inbuilt dictionary. It is a normal good dictionary where you have to type the word and search. I was expecting it to function as like in Windows version. But I was totally disappointed after buying this. Wordweb is an excellent dictionary for Windows but it is right opposite for Mac. Hope this review would help the interested people.

I couldn;t wait for the Mac version of this great program to make its debut, I have had the windows version for years and use it quite a bit, the Mac version is just as good, very handy when looking for an alternative word to use or even to check if its spelled correctly, thats what I use it mainly for and for the price its offered at, what a steal!

This was one of my favorite apps when I was still on a PC. It was, sadly, left behind when I decided that for my own sanity I needed to get off of Windows. And now, its available for the Mac!! If you solve or compile crosswords or word puzzles, this app is for you. Ive never found anything I liked better. Its small, fast, and usually right on the money. Its definitely less cumbersome than, say, Crossworders Dictionary and Gazetteer. It can also integrate as a service on a Mac so that it can be accessed from any other application. Thanks, Anthony. Its WordWeb, so thats always a plus. And five bucks?! Another BIG plus. Finally, someone understands the Laffer curve. However, after using the Windows version for years, there are a few features I expected on this first release. 1) When you highlight a word, then open WordWeb, the highlighted word should be searched and displayed already. 2) When you copy a word, same thing. Its in the buffer, WordWeb should already have it displayed when it opens. 3) Comparing synonyms with the pc version, this version is lacking. Plus, in the PC version you could just click the synonyms tab, or the other tabs (type of, types, etc). Here, its not as straightfoward. You have to scroll down and look for matching symbols. As a writer, I need a good thesaurus. The PC version was good. This version will be good, hopefully. Interesting that the free PC version is better than the paid-for Mac version. In the PC version, you had a taskbar icon, so the program was already loaded in the background. In Mac, you could have the same thing. An icon could be in the top bar, same bar where the date/time, battery life is displayed. Program runs in the background, you click on the icon, whatever word is highlighted or in the buffer, that word is displayed. But overall, Im glad they released this. Beats all heck out of the Mac dictionary.

If you are a word fan then this is a useful addition to your dictionary library. It is a lot faster and cleaner than going to a dictionary website and dealing with all the ads and is available offline (useful if you like to write in non-internet connected places). The biggest reasons to go with WordWeb products over Apples OS X built in offerings are: - pronounciation link: Most words have a speaker icon where you can hear the correct pronunciation. - show types: Many words are cross referenced. Searching flowers gives you a show types with the entire list of flowers. - search: Full Text, Anagrams, Containing Words, Pattern Placeholder (crosswords, hangman, etc) The biggest frustrations: - Apples UI is gorgeous, WordWeb is PC windows like. - Apple will show pcitures and diagrams next to definitions. WordWeb has no pictures or diagrams. - Apple will show one scrollable list of defintion, thesaurus and WikiPedia, WordWeb requires you to click on tabs and it only searches between their installed products. If WordWeb could incorporate Apples dictionary offerings into an improved interface they could combine both ecosystems into one interface, which is what we really want in the first place. If they also offered the ability to add web URL dictionaries it would be perfect!
