Who is the Butcher?

The master butcher behind Ask the Butcher is Anthony Puharich, owner of Vic’s Premium Quality Meat, which has been supplying quality meat to Australia’s finest restaurants for over 15 years, and serving up specialty meat at the prestigious Victor Churchill butchery, the “Bulgari of butcheries”.

Anthony shares his in-depth knowledge and expert advice, so you too can bring out the very best that meat can offer.

Anthony is also staring in a new TV show, Ask the Butcher, airing from 26th March 2013 on Australia’s LifeStyle FOOD channel.

NB: This is a NEW app from Ask the Butcher, offering new functionality such as Suggest a cut, At the butchers and Prepare it perfectly. The new timer prompts you to turn your meat and most importantly advises on how long to rest your meat.

Awesome

By far the best, most comprehensive, and most educational meat app Ive found. A couple of differences in terminology between Canada and Aus, but not a deterrent at all. Highly recommended.

Cooking timer allows only one steak

Not good, the timer will only allow one steak at the time meaning you cannot cook different preferences at the same time. Ie well done and medium for example.

Really a good and complete app, but yes you still need to know how to cook :)!!! Good job and thanks

Complete and really helpful

Almost

If you use the Australian names for meat its good app. Theres a lot of potential here. Otherwise, its just a nice marketing tool for Vics meat and not a straight up app. Do not recommend unless you live in Australia.

Nice Idea

I like the idea, but Meat 101 has more information and US names for cuts.

So happy I found this!

Really nice way of organizing this info. It will certainly help at the farmers market when the meat sales guy (who just sells it but knows little about it) offers you the wrong cut for what you were planning on making.
