I purchased this app (and its sister app "Nav Lights & Shapes") to study for a USCG nav rules exam. It wasnt that helpful. The self-test feature works okay, but doesnt allow you to keep track of your progress. Most annoying for me is that one must purchase two separate apps to cover the entire COLREGs, and US Inland Rules are not Included. (Okay, I know it is a UK app.) One is better off simply studying the COLREGS itself.

Top marks for top graphics
Stunning graphics inside this app: I could ogle all day! Its helped me distinguish the shapes, colour schemes, sound signals, locations and markings for most structures in the water like buoys and lighthouses. Its got all the info on buoyage in both regions A (Europe) and B (USA, Japan). The test yourself quiz is great for testing other members of the crew during a round of drinks or fellow skippers. You wont regret this one.

This app has some good info. But when it comes to light config you have to buy another app for lights. Worth
A good buy, well worth it - recommended
This covers it all, and was useful for my skippers exam. I keep it on my phone and its handy to refer to as it covers all the navigation rules of the road as well as sound signals e.g. restricted vis, distress etc. Good value, and nice clear graphics.

Dumb app
I bought it for the "Test yourself" feature. Theres like 20 questions and then the test is done... And when you take the test again, it repeats the same questions. I could have done that for free.
