Eine Freude für den Gourmet
Eine sehr schöne interaktive Zeitschrift mit wunderbaren Artikeln aus der Welt der großen Küche. Herrliche Rezepte, informative Artikel, appetitliche Bilder und ein interessantes "Achievement-System" sorgen dafür das dem Genuss-Begeisterten mit dieser App sicher nicht zu schnell langweilig wird.

a visually and content-wise gorgeous app, but the frequent crashes spoil the experience to the point of rendering it unusable. Dear developers, please fix this, the app is bound to be great!

Ich bin auf dieses Magazin aufmerksam geworden, als sich ein Tech-Kolumnist darüber ausgelassen hat, wie wenig er es gut findet, dass Adobe mit der CS immer mehr Verlage in die Richtung bewegt, ihre Print-Magazine 1:1 auf die digitalen Medien wie das iPad zu portieren. Na klar, der Inhalt zählt am meisten, aber das Lesen einer digital verteilten Zeitschrift sollte ja vielleicht noch die technischen Möglichkeiten des Geräts nutzen (z.B. Twitter-Anbindung oder Verlinkungen etc.). Als gutes Beispiel für eine gelungene digitale Darstellung des Inhalts, der dadurch eher angenehmer zu konsumieren ist und einen Mehrwert bietet, ohne gleich Unmengen an Speicherplatz auf dem Endgerät zu verbrauchen, wurde Gourmet Live genannt. Da entschloss ich mich, es einmal damit zu versuchen. Und ich bin wirklich sehr angetan. Der Leser wird nicht in Unmengen an Informationen ertränkt, die sonst auch immer das Gefühl hinterlassen, nie ALLES gelesen zu haben (oder lesen zu können). Statt dessen gibt es bei Gourmet Live ein paar (7-9) ausgewählte - und bislang ausnahmslos spannend, kurzweilig und somit interessant geschriebene - Artikel von übersichtlicher Länge mit exzellenten Fotos, intelligenten und amüsanten Interviews... Also wunderbar. Ich kann diese App jedem an diesen Themen interessierten Leser mit einigermaßen guten Englischkenntnissen empfehlen. Noch dazu ist sie kostenlos, ein Testlauf sollte also auf jeden Fall drin sein...
Beautiful and informative
This magazine-app is not only gorgeous, the food writing, the recipes and the overall content are of equal or sometimes even better quality than established printed media like Food & Wine and Saveur. And it is free!!! I dont understand the negative reviews
Not worth the wait.
There is neither a bold insouciance or earnest beginning in this app. It is lost in the shadow of decades of great Gourmet issues. One cannot even declare this as half-baked. An inscrutable requirement to use Facebook or Twitter. No linkage to existing Bon Appetit or Gourmet web site accounts. Im obliged to use it in portrait mode. Weird pop-ups like Grilling! And Pasta! that do nothing when I am exhorted to View Now. A lame, link-less, meandering article style that ignores 15 years of progress in building interactive pages -- hello, CSS? Earth to Conde Nast... how many committees thought this was wonderful? Thankfully, nobody is being charged for this.
