The house exterior in lemon yellow or sun yellow? A bedroom in strawberry red? RAL iCOLOURS shows how things could look. With this app for iPhone and iPad, you can now recolour the objects in your photos with any RAL colour – quickly and easily.
In only three steps, anything can be recoloured with RAL iCOLOURS:
1.Take a photo with your iPhone.
2.Select one of 2,328 RAL colours.
3.Recolour the object in the photo.
RAL iCOLOURS is as useful as it is inspiring. Painters, architects, graphic designers and Web designers can now make it easier for their customers to make colour decisions. With the RAL Colours app, you can quickly give them a picture of your colour concept. You can present colour designs to your customers on site and display alternatives directly. And you can save your colour selection by project name and send photos of recoloured objects via email.
The app’s colour palette includes the RAL CLASSIC and RAL EFFECT colour collections and all of the colours in the RAL DESIGN System – all 2,328 RAL colours. The corresponding L*a*b*, sRGB, CMYK and LRV values are listed for each colour. And RAL iCOLOURS is also compatible with COLORCATCH NANO, the Colorix colorimeter. This device incorporates a revolutionary new technology to accurately measure the color of smooth, structured or patterned surfaces to determine the corresponding color of the preselected swatch. NANO reads and measures 50000 pixels separately. During reading it eliminates automatically all non-dominant colors such as shade effects and dirty surfaces.

The colour values enable the user to make a visual choice of RAL colours. Only the primary standards of RAL CLASSIC, RAL DESIGN and RAL EFFECT shall be used for the preparation and control of RAL colours.

Pas simple
Gute Absicht, jedoch wenig praxistauglich
Wenn die Maskierung funktionieren würde könnte es eine brauchbare Sache sein. So aber sehe ich kaum einen Nutzen. Photorealistische Farbgestaltung scheint auch nicht möglich zu sein.

Unbrauchbar
Abgesehen von der umständlichen Bedienung stimmen die Farbwerte nicht. z.B. RAL3020 (ein sattes rot) soll 0/0/0/10 sein. Schlecht.
Gute Idee - leider mit Mängeln
Die Version kann man ohne Erklärung nicht abschließend bedienen. Die Hilfe fehlt leider ganz. Man hat anscheinend viele Möglichkeiten Farben auszuwählen und Fotos zu bearbeiten. Selbsterklärend ist das Programm leider nicht geschrieben. Manchmal liegen die ermittelten Farbwerte kräftig daneben. Bis das Update kommt nur zwei Sterne. Aber die Ansätze sind gut. Mit 8,99 € recht teuer.
Angaben falsch
Liebe Macher von Ral-iColours, da habe ich mal endlich Geld für eine App richtig in den Sand gesetzt. Eigentlich war ich bei der App am meisten an den Umrechnungswerten in die anderen Farbmodelle interessiert, da man sehr oft in die Verlegenheit kommt, eine Farbe nicht nur in RAL sondern auch in RGB oder CMYK anzugeben! Aber leider sind die Angaben zumindest teilweise richtig falsch! Wenn ich z.B. RAL 2004 (orange) ankucke, soll diese aus 70% Magenta CYMK 0 0 70 0 bestehen und sonst nix! Wenn sich solche Fehler einschleichen, wie kann man dann auf die anderen Werte vertrauen wie z.B. Hellbezugswert. Solche Werte kann ich nicht so schnell prüfen kann mich aber ernsthaft als Architekt in Schwierigkeit bringen, wenn ich ein Wärmedämmverbundsystem mit falschen Werten plane! Bitte bringt das in Ordnung! Dann kann man die App auch wirklich im Alltag nutzen! @Apple: Bitte denkt doch mal über eine Rückgabe solcher fehlerhafter Software nach! Normaler Weise kann man das mit jedem Produkt, dass man im Internet kauft. Warum nicht auch mit fehlerhaften Apps!
Nicht nachvollziebar
Sehr kompliziert und wegen fehlender Gebrauchsanleitung vollkommen unbrauchbar. Vielleicht schafft ein Bill Gates das. Otto Normalverbraucher aber nicht.
