Twigle helps beginner and intermediate birders to easily identify birds as it automatically recognises birds from their photos. Simply take a photo or select one from your photo gallery and Twigle will identify it.
Twigle uses image recognition to help you identify 540 species of birds from North America, 350 species from Southern Africa and 310 species from the UK & Ireland with an accuracy of 60%.
As a complete field guide to birds, Twigle includes a powerful search tool, HD pictures, detailed bird descriptions and birdsongs, all meant to help you better know your birds.
Download Twigle’s offline database containing information on bird behavior, habitat, diet, breeding and text description. Once downloaded, there’s no need to connect to the Internet to access the database – it’s all on your phone, ready for birding even where there’s no Internet connection.
This bird identification app also gives you access to multiple images and composites for each bird, hear multiple bird songs and calls, and see highly detailed bird descriptions including habitat and distribution, feeding, breeding, and of course, their calls and songs.

Photos of birds taken with just the phones camera are generally not crisp and clear and thus are not the use case of this app. You can improve on the quality of photos taken with your phone by using it in conjunction with lens attachments made for your device by several phone accessory manufacturers.
Twigles database downloads are quite large (several hundreds of MBs) and so it is recommended that you download over WiFi to avoid huge cellular data charges.
You will also need to ensure your device has enough free space to download and install the database - about 3 GB.

Love it!!!
This app is amazing!!! Im constantly attempting to identify the different birds that I see, but never have luck with my google searches. With this app, it makes it so easy with its step by step process. Not only does it provide pictures, but it also lets you hear the birds calls! Truly amazing!
Awesome App
I really like this app. I learned so much about different birds in my environment. I like listening to the various bird calls and this app has a lot of cool pictures of birds. Everyone who is a birder or wants to become one should have this app!
Can I get my money back?
The recognition is awful, doesnt even work with simple recorded playbacks. Recordings have extremely low volume and a lot of noise. Save your money and use google.

Cant download software to iPad. Doesnt work unless you can select region
Crashes!
Paid $7 for this app and it doesnt even open - just crashes! Fraudulent. Apple should be more on top of this. I just through away money to crooks!

This app is a scam. Not only does it not work but the search function doesnt even work! Going to all lengths possible to get my money back on this. Thanks for a waste of time and effort!
